SOLO WORK

What work is ever really solo? We are interdependent beings, part of  an eternal ongoing organic interwoven phenomenical dance...

Arawi

(Milan, 2017)

Arawi means "poem" or "chant" in the Quechua language. It is the title of one of the songs of the amazing Bolivian singer Luzmila Carpio, whose work, particulary her interpretation of the bird's language, was a major inspiratiion for this creation.

Although this performance is open to the public's interpretation, it fundamentally comes through as an alchemical personal and transpersonal dance symbolising the main stages of the sacred feminine experience, from birth, through fertility, until the realization of wisdom. Premièred in Milan, at the University of Choreosophy - Cycle of the Dragon, in 2017.

Offering to White Tara

II Congress on Sound, Music & Wisdom
(Lisbon, 2017)

Tara is an iconic Buddhist goddess of many colors. Although she is formally associated only with Buddhism in Tibet, Mongolia, and Nepal, she has become one of the most familiar figures of Buddhism around the world. Her name in Tibetan is Sgrol-ma, or Dolma, which means "she who saves." It is said her compassion for all beings is stronger than a mother's love for her children. The White Tara is the personification of compassion, long life, healing, and serenity.  The followers of the White Tara believe that the gift of longevity is granted for the practice of compassion and service to others. The basic words for the Tara Mantra are: Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha, which means, "Praise to Tara! Hail!"  (sources of the preceding texts: www.thoughtco.com; http://humanityhealing.net)).

I wished to pay hommage to this iconic deity of the Buddhist panteon as a gesture of gratitude and reverence to all she represents, in challeging times.

Levante

Basilica of Our Lady of Avioth, France
(Avioth, 2014)

Levante is a personal and impersonal song
It is origin and longing
Sounds, ancient or present
A thousand of pieces of mine, yours or others'...
It is golden letters, forgotten cries, deep and obstinate whistles... Sediments that the strong winds drag, dancing in the air in all directions; shapes in the sand drawn by currents of air; dunes and bushes with no fixed place, molding themselves unwittingly by the whims of nature...

It is my homage to my maternal lineage and to the Great Mother.

Levante of the Rising Sun, you clean my heart, removing any prints, starting anew, healing my soul, allowing it to dance through!
